Aroma Fields Candles > Candle Care

Candles are fire! Always remember to keep candles out of reach of children and pets and away from drafty areas. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Failure to follow these General Rules could result in fire or injury:

General Rules:

  • Before burning, remove and discard packaging. This includes any bows, ribbons and hang tags.
  • Keep burning candles within your sight at all times.
  • Never leave a candle unattended.
  • Keep burning candles away from flammable materials and out of reach of children and pets.
  • Keep wick trimmed to 1/4".
  • Keep wick centered at all times.
  • Only burn candles in or on fire resistant surfaces.
  • Place your candle in an area free from drafts.

Jar Candle Care, Safety & Burning Instructions:

  • Glass containers are fragile. Handle with care. Don't use jars that are cracked or chipped.
  • Burn each candle so the melt pool reaches all the way across the jar. The time it takes to achieve this full melt pool depends on the size of you jar. Generally, it is about 1 hour per inch of diameter. You will find this gives you a great burning candle.
  • Although we use self-trimming wicks, you may want to be sure that the wicks are trimmed to approximately 1/4".
  • Although the wick should automatically extinguish as the wax level reaches approximately 1/2", discontinue use at this level. (TIP: break remaining wax up in 1" pieces to melt in a tart burner for additional fragrancing).
  • Candles will discolor or fade when they are exposed to intense light for extended periods of time. Avoid displaying candles in sunlight, florescent lighting or other strong illuminated areas.
  • To recycle jar for other household uses: Once the wax has been melted and the jar has been emptied, quickly wipe with paper towel to remove any soy wax residue. Wash jar with soap and water, rinse.

Wickless Candle Care, Safety & Heating Instructions:

  • Before placing candle on warming unit, remove all packaging (bows, ribbons, hang tags) and remove the lid.
  • When using standard, wicked candles, remove the paper warning label from the bottom of the container.
  • Use on an approved electric candle warmer.
  • Keep warming unit out of reach of children and pets.
  • Although this candle has no flame, the warming unit is an electrical appliance. Never leave it on when you are not around to watch it.
  • When fragrance is no longer apparent, heat candle on warming unit and safely pour hot soy wax into disposable container. Empty tin cans work nicely. Do not pour wax down the sink.
  • To recycle jar for other household uses: Once the wax has been melted and the jar has been emptied, quickly wipe with paper towel to remove any soy wax residue. Wash jar with soap and water, rinse.

Melts, Melties & Aroma Buds
Care, Safety & Heating Instructions:

  • Remove and discard all packaging.
  • Use in an approved electric tart burner or...
  • Use in potpourri burner which uses a tealight candle beneath.
  • Keep warming unit out of reach of children and pets.
  • Although there is no flame, the warming unit is an electrical appliance. Never leave it on when you are not around to watch it.
  • Use only the amount of wax instructed.
  • When fragrance is no longer apparent, you will still have wax remaining. Simply allow the wax to solidify in the warming bowl, place bowl into your freezer for 10 to 15 minutes then easily remove solid wax and dispose of into trash. Do not pour wax down sink drain.

Votive Care, Safety & Burning Instructions:

  • Remove and discard all packaging.
  • Place votive in tight fitting votive holder. Votives are not meant to be free standing. If burned in inappropriate holder, votives will completely liquify in 1/2 hour, leaving a big puddle of wax.
  • Make sure wick is kept trimmed to 1/4"
  • Never leave unattended.
  • When votive has completely burned down, wipe remaining soy wax residue from votive holder with paper towel, wash with soap and water, rinse.
